What are the lyrics of Imagine?

Imagine there’s no heaven
It’s easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people living for today

Imagine there’s no countries
It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people living life in peace

You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope some day you’ll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people sharing all the world, you

You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope some day you’ll join us
And the world will be as one

FAQ’s

Is imagine easy to play?

Imagine is a great song for beginners to learn how to play the piano. It was written and performed by The Beatles’ Mr John Lennon, who also composed this with simplicity in mind but created powerful music as well due to its simple chords, which are easy on fingers yet still provide depth when listening closely enough!

This makes them perfect tools if you want your first venture into learning about music theory or just playing songs from memory without having any sheet music at hand (which we all know can be a struggle).

When was Imagine released?

Imagine was released in 1971 of the album also named Imagine, and this was the opening track to the album.

It was released as a single a month after the album was released and reached number 3 in the US Charts, number one in Canada, and was his only hit in Australia, reaching number one here and staying for five weeks.

The Rolling Stone ranked Imagine as the third greatest song ever, and John Lennon himself said that this song was as easily as good as anything he’d written with The Beatles.

It was later released as a single in the UK in 1975, at the same time as the release of the album shaved fish, and it reached number six on the UK charts, but then was re-released in the UK in 1981, where it then climbed quickly to number one position.

The song was written about portraying life with no divides, such as religion and possessions, and how the world would be a more peaceful place to live without war or pain. This was aimed at giving out a strong political message.

In the video that was produced for the record John Lennon dressed as a cowboy, and again this was his way of trying to get a message across through his music to people and his way of trying to get cultures to get along.

What key is imagine played in?

The song is written in the key of C Major, which makes it perfect for beginners, as it uses simple chords and notes. It uses the Chords C Major, F Major, A Minor, D Minor, G Major, and E Major.
